President Hosni Mubarak on Sunday met with Tanzanian counterpart Jakaya Kikwete in Cairo to discuss bolstering economic ties between the two countries.
They also convened to hash out Nile-sharing issues.
Tanzania is one upstream riparian nation to sign an agreement in April with Ethiopia, Uganda, Rwanda and Kenya that aims to redistribute Nile water.
Egypt and Sudan strongly oppose the accord. The two downstream countries claim the lion's share of Nile flow, according to regional agreements dating back to the British colonial era.
Mubarak met with Eritrean President Asaias Afwerki on Thursday. The two heads of states discussed bilateral relations and African and Middle Eastern issues of mutual importance.
In related developments, Ethiopian Prime Minister, Meles Zenawi, recently accused Egypt of supporting insurgents in Ethiopia, a statement Mubarak categorically dismissed.
