MP calls for changes to Egypt’s rental value, including ending with ownership

Parliament member Amr Darwish said on Wednesday that there should be a minimum rental value, and that it should be fair and just, and that rental value ending with ownership should be applied.

Darwish’s statements came during his speech at the Coordination’s Committee of Party’s Youth Leaders and Politicians salon entitled “The Constitutional Court Ruling and the Fate of Old Rent… Towards a Fair Vision.”

Darwish added that the House of Representatives’ statement was largely disciplined in implementing the ruling of the Supreme Constitutional Court, adding that we, as legislators, must seek to achieve the concept of justice because the current rental value is unfair.

He continued that there should be also be a national initiative to develop the new cities established by the state.
