The tour guides union in the Red Sea, in cooperation with Hurghada Cruisers, a team of young people engaged in motorcycle sports, will organize a rally that kicks off Monday morning from the tourist walkway in Hurghada to Luxor. The rally will celebrate the sun's alignment on the sanctum of Amun Temple and the sanctum of Hatshepsut Temple in Luxor.
The head of the union in the Red Sea, Bashar Abu Taleb, said the goal of the rally is to promote tourism and attract tourists who love motorcycling.
Union board member Mohamed Mostafa said the event is the first among a series of sportive events planned with Hurghada Cruisers.
Mohamed Ibrahim, vice-president of Hurghada Cruisers, said the team is preparing another a rally in February that will pass through Hurghada, Luxor, Qena and Edfu until it reaches Kom Ombo in Aswan, to celebrate the same phenomenon of the sun's rays on the Abu Simbel Temple sanctum on February 22.
Sixty motorcyclists from different nationalities will participate in the Hurghada-Luxor rally.
