Morsy trial over killing protesters resumes

Cairo Criminal Court will resume on Monday the trial of toppled President Mohamed Morsy and 14 other members of the Muslim Brotherhood over charges of killing protesters outside Ettehadiya Palace in December 2012.

Mass protests were staged against the supplementary constitutional declaration issued by Morsy in November 2012, which made his decisions unchallengeable.

The court adjourned the previous session due to absence of the suspects’ defense. Judges will resume hearing witnesses’ testimonies.
