In light of another outbreak of violence in Egypt’s streets, President Mohamed Morsy has reactivated the National Council for Justice and Equality, said a statement issued by the president’s office late Monday evening.
The council is intended to raise awarness about good citizenship, and promotes justice and equality among all people, regardless of gender, religion or ethnic origin.
The statement called on all political forces to come up with proposals for the council. The president has also instructed the Interior Ministry to quickly arrest the perpetrators of violence and bring them to justice, in accordance with the law.
