President Mohamed Morsy met with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas on Thursday at the presidential palace in Heliopolis.
The two presidents discussed the latest developments in Palestinian reconciliation efforts between Fatah and Hamas, and Egypt's efforts to alleviate the ongoing suffering of the Palestinian people.
The meeting was also attended by Foreign Minister Mohamed Kamel Amr.
Also in attendance were Saeb Erekat, veteran Palestinian negotiator; Azzam al-Ahmed, member of the Fatah central committee and the official responsible for the reconciliation file; Nabil abu Rdaina, Palestinian presidential spokesperson; and Barakat al-Farr, Palestinian ambassador to Egypt and permanent delegate to the Arab League.
