Cairo Criminal Court, held at the Police Academy, postponed on Sunday, the trial of toppled president Mohamed Morsy and another 34 Muslim Brotherhood leaders over espionage charges to 20 September and allowed the defense to have access to the report of the National Telecommunications Authority.
The court also ordered the public prosecutor to provide analysis of Morsy's presidential adviser for Egyptian expatriates, Ayman Ali, and to ask the Travel Documents and Immigration Administration about his departure/arrival record. In addition, the court ordered FJP leader Mohamed al-Beltagy be examined at Manyal University hospital.
Twenty defendants, including Morsy, Brotherhood Supreme Guide Mohamed Badie and others, are remanded into custody pending investigations, while another 16 suspects are at large.
The defendants are accused of spying for foreign agencies, disclosing national security secrets to a foreign country and financing terrorism.
