Morsi’s investment minister criticizes Egypt’s human rights record

Former Investment Minister Yehia Hamed, who held his office under the toppled President Mohamed Morsi, has criticized the human rights situation in Egypt in remarks to the German DPA news agency.
 
Speaking to the press in Istanbul, Hamed said that "Egypt is witnessing the worst [human rights] situation since decades."
 
"Protesters are being shot, arrested and persecuted," he said, calling on western countries to investigate the conditions in Egyptian prisons.
