Solidarity and Social Justice Minister Gouda Abdel Khaleq announced on Friday that his ministry will be providing additional quantities of butane gas to meet increased demand during the Eid al-Adha holiday.
More than one million butane gas cylinders will be put on the market daily, Abdel Khaleq said during a press conference on Thursday to announce the ministry's preparations for the holy event.
Butane filling stations are working at full capacity, and the quantity will be doubled in Giza Governorate, he said.
Abdel Khaleq referred to an agreement with the armed forces to secure butane warehouses and cars loaded with butane cylinders.
The Agriculture Ministry will provide large quantities of local meat at moderate prices, he added.
Local meat will be available in the more than 3500 outlets belonging to the Food Industries Holding Company, Abdel Khaleq said, noting that these outlets will also have fresh Ethiopian meat.
