Mohamed Salah’s family donates LE900,000 to hospital: Gharbia Governor

Governor of Gharbia Hisham al-Saeed announced on Sunday that the family of Egyptian football superstar Mohamed Salah have donated LE900,000 to Basyoun General Hospital.

Saeed said that the money would be allocated towards the purchase of ventilators, patient beds, the Eco and Sonar equipment, as well as renovations to the intensive care unit and hospital supplies.

Back in October, Salah’s father Salah Ghaly reported that the charity project established by Salah in his home-village Nagrig, Basyoun has been finalized, and will be inaugurated in June.

The project includes an Al-Azhar institute and an ambulance unit, both at about LE18 million, according to Ghaly.

During an interview with Al-Masry Al-Youm, Ghaly claimed that his son refused to accept any financial assistance with the project. Salah decided to establish both facilities at his own expense, he added.

In May, Salah had also previously donated a five-feddan land plot to his home village in order to build a sewage pumping station to provide clean drinking water.

Salah is among Premier League top scorer’s lead with Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane.
