The agent of Egyptian football superstar Mohamed Salah, Ramy Abbas, commented on the injury Salah suffered and the decision to return him to England for treatment.
Salah was injured before the end of the first half of the match between Egypt and Ghana in the second round of the group stage of the African Cup of Nations, which ended in a draw with two goals for each side.
Abbas posted on his account on the X platform (formerly Twitter) on Monday, saying: “Mohamed’s injury is more serious than first thought and he will be out for 21-28 days, and not 2 games.”
“His best chance at participating in the current AFCON is by undergoing intensive rehabilitation in the UK and rejoining the team as soon as he is fit,” he added.
Liverpool FC manager Jurgen Klopp announced, on Sunday, that Salah would return to England for rehabilitation, with the possibility of his return if the Egyptian national team reached the final of the tournament.
