Mohamed Salah wins World’s Best Player award for January 2025

Liverpool FC star Mohamed Salah has won the International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS) World’s Best Player award for January 2025.

The IFFHS published the list of the best players in the world for the first month of the year, which saw Salah in the top place ahead of Real Madrid’s French star Kylian Mbappe and Barcelona’s Brazilian Rafinha.

Salah is having an exceptional season with Liverpool FC with 21 goals, topping the Premier League scorers table for the 2024-25 season.

He has now become the sixth top scorer in the Premier League history, with 178 goals, surpassing the English legend Frank Lampard, the former Chelsea star.

The Egyptian King also became the fifth player in the history of the English Premier League to score more than 20 goals in five different seasons, tying with the legend Alan Shearer, the Frenchman Thierry Henry, the Argentine Sergio Aguero, and the Englishman Harry Kane.

This comes in addition to Salah reaching goal #301 in his European career.
