Mohamed Salah nominated for the Sports Personality of the Year award in Britain

The Egyptian international, and Liverpool FC striker Mohamed Salah was nominated for the Sports Personality of the Year award in the UK in 2022, presented by the Ethnicity Awards.

On Tuesday, the organization announced the shortlist nominated for the award, with the presence of Mohamed Salah, along with: Arsenal player Bukayo Saka, Everton player Dominic Calvert-Lewin, British runner Mohamed Farah, as well as sprinter Alex Yee, British sprinter Dina Asher Smith, and South African cyclist Nicholas Dlamini, weightlifter Karenjeet Kaur, and British boxer Natasha Jonas.

The award is given by vote, as it depends on the public’s support for each of the nominees, and the award ceremony will be held on October 27.

On its website, the organization praised Salah, who is considered the most distinguished striker in the world.

Salah had signed a long-term contract with the Reds, weeks ago, to decide to continue with the team he joined in 2017.

Salah was crowned with several individual awards during 2022, most notably: PFA Players’ Player of the Year, and FWA Footballer of the Year, and the player of the year in Liverpool FC.

Salah won the Golden Boot award with 23 goals, and the award for the best playmaker with his assists in 13 goals, in the Premier League competition last season, and he was crowned with Liverpool in the FA Cup and EFL Cup titles.
