Local media reports said that Egyptian international and Liverpool FC striker Mohamed Salah took an urgent move regarding player Ahmed Refaat, who fell unconscious during a match after suffering a heart attack and was rushed to medical care.
Sports media host Islam Sadek announced through social media that Salah informed officials of the Egyptian Football Association that he was sending a private medically equipped plane to transport Refaat to England for treatment.
The doctor treating Refaat revealed the latest health developments for the star of Modern Future, who has been in the hospital since the first day of Ramadan after falling unconscious during his team’s match against al-Ittihad Alexandria in the Egyptian Premier League.
Doctor Emad Hamdi said in televised statements that while his kidneys are still not functioning as they should, there is a significant improvement in the player’s condition.
The tests conducted on the player were negative and did not indicate that he had taken medications that caused the heart attack, he added.
Hamdi continued: “In the past few hours, there has been a noticeable improvement in Ahmed Refaat’s condition, and things are stable, and his level of consciousness has become better and is gradually returning.”
His blood pressure results were also reassuring, and during the past 24 hours there have been no disturbances in the heart muscle.
