Egyptian Singer and actor Mohamed Ramadan announced on Friday that the state has seized money he deposited into his bank account.
Ramadan said in a video he posted on his official Instagram account: “I woke up today to a phone call from the bank informing me that the state has seized my money.”
Ramadan continued, insinuating that what was taken wasn’t all of his money: “Country people like me, farmers, and Upper Egyptians, while they put money in the bank, they also keep money at their homes.”
He concluded the video by saying: “Good morning, Egypt.”
Judicial authorities commented on the seizure of Ramadan’s money saying that the Public Prosecution has no jurisdiction in the issue, as the matter is related to the implementation of a judicial ruling.
