Miss Intercontinental 2018 beauty contest commences at Egypt’s Hurghada

The 46th edition of Miss Intercontinental beauty contest commenced on Thursday at the Egyptian Red Sea city of Hurghada with more than 77 countries participating, state news website Al-Ahram said.

Lasting until January 25, Miss Intercontinental 2018 will be including participants from countries in Egypt, South Sudan, Lebanon, Algeria, Iraq, the United States of America, France, Russia, Brazil and Venezuela.

Pre-pageant activities started on January 10, while the coronation night will be on January 24 at the Sunrise Grand Select Crystal Bay in Egypt.

Contestants are expected to visit Egypt’s touristic sites like Luxor, Aswan, as well as the Red Sea’s city of Marsa Alam during their visit.

Last year, Heilymar Rosario from Puerto Rico won the title, and Tracy Ann De Zilva from Sri Lanka was the first runner up. The contest was previously held in Sri Lanka.
