Featuring dozens of teenage beauty queens from across the globe, the 2022 Miss Eco Teen International pageant concluded in the cities of Hurghada and Marsa Alam on Sunday, with Cherisha Chanda of India crowned the new queen.
More than 25 countries from different continents around the world took part in the event, held with the aim of encouraging the establishment of competition tourism in Hurghada.
Beauty queens eagerly took memorial photos during their visit to the beaches of Giftun Island where they spent a full day on its beach.
Tourism expert Mohamed Eid Suleiman explained that hosting this competition is a continuation of the efforts to support incoming tourism to the city of Hurghada, as it is one of the most important beach tourism cities in the world.
The competition includes several tourist tours for participants, including sea trips, diving trips, and a city tour to get acquainted with the tourist attractions of Hurghada, with the aim of marketing and promoting tourism in the Red Sea online.
Suleiman said the competition is considered a soft force to promote tourism. The power of the Miss Eco Teen competition lies in foreign media presence to cover the event which will contribute to promoting Egyptian tourist destinations globally.
The competition includes organizing cruises, diving, safaris, fashion shows, and a cultural competition, he said, pointing out that the use of celebrities in promoting tourism to Egypt has made great resonance internationally and locally.
