Ministry promises reward for pylon sabotage informants

Egypt’s Electricity and Renewable Energy Ministry announced in a statement on Monday it would disburse monetary rewards to anybody providing information about potential sabotage of power facilities, including electricity pylons, in order to help thwart attempted assaults.

Pylons have become a primary target for attacks since the ouster of former president Mohamed Morsi in 2013, with bombings seeking to add to the dilemma of an energy system already stricken by fuel shortages.
