In an attempt to curtail sectarian violence, the Ministry of Religious Endowments decided to unify Friday’s prayer speech to talk about national unity.
Also, a delegation of Al-Azhar scholars paid a visit to the village of Atfeeh on Wednesday to express their solidarity with the Coptic residents there after their church was assaulted.
For their part, the “Ansar al-Sunna” (Sunna Advocates) group and the “Ashraf” (Nobles) syndicate also condemned sectarian violence.
Meanwhile, the 25 January youth called for a million-man demonstration in Tahrir Square on Friday for the same purpose.
