Minister: Possibility of drafting new constitution before elections

Suggestions are being considered to draft a new constitution before parliamentary and presidential elections, said Justice Minister Mohamed al-Guindi. The idea was proposed during the National Dialogue Conference.

“If there is a public consensus on postponing the parliamentary elections, the government will go with the will of people,” he added.

In a symposium at the Gezira Sporting Club on Saturday evening, Guindi said the Egyptian people should decide on the matter.

He added that the trials of former corrupt officials are speedy and achieve justice.

Finally, Guindi said citizens must work hard in order to increase agricultural and industrial productivity and trade volume.
