Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhy expressed his appreciation towards the Al-Masry Al-Youm Foundation’s participation in the “Renouncing Intolerance” sports initiative, and praised the foundation as the cornerstone of the nation’s press system.
Al-Masry Al-Youm was picked as the launching site for the initiative due to its credibility, he said, and how it joins national figures, famous journalists and critics in its printed newspaper, online portal and multimedia section.
Media outlets, Sobhy said, are the state’s main partners in all issues of concern to the Egyptian people and spread a positive image of Egypt worldwide.
Sobhy noted that he is minister of team and individual games including football and minister of Egyptian youth who exceeded two million youth participating at the ministry’s activities
Editor-in-Chief Abdel Latef al-Manawy welcomed Sobhy, and said that Al-Masry Al-Youm will be an effective partner in the initiative.
Manawy said that the foundation will do its effort to debunk rumors that led to intolerance in the Egyptian sport arena. He also promised that he will contribute in all activities, conversations, and workshops which will help the ministry deliver its message and eliminate intolerance.
