Manpower Minister Nahed Ashry said the total amount of emergency aid disbursed to companies at risk of bankrupcy reached LE35,336,000, helping 32,245 workers.
In a periodic report to Prime Minister Ibrahim Mehleb on Thursday, Ashry said medical and social care were offered to irregular workforce, 144,106 workers were registered by the manpower departments and 164,676 irregular workers were hired.
The project distributed LE2.7 million in social welfare, from which 24,239 workers benefited, the minister said, while LE152,597 was allocated to medical care offered to 904 workers.
The total irregular workforce in Egypt reached 2.5 million workers, 318,000 of which are registered by the ministry.
