Minister: Higher education ministry prioritizes innovation, comprehensive education for all

Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Mohamed Ayman Ashour asserted that his ministry prioritizes programs of offering comprehensive education for everyone as well as encouraging innovation, research, development and diversity of finance resources.

This came in Ashour’s word before a parliamentary committee formed to examine the government program.

Ashour said that the work program of the ministry counts on the national strategy of higher education and scientific research with the participation of academic, research and scientific community to put a future vision of higher education and scientific research in Egypt going in line with the state’s vision 2030 and the goals of sustainable development.

The strategic plan focuses on the geographical division of the state, he said, adding that a study was conducted on linking regions with their potentials and the current economic activities with the universities whether governmental, private or ahleya, he said.

Ashour asserted that the most important main axes in the national strategy are the integration of educational institutions to improve the efficiency of the educational system via upgrading programs available in each university and linking them with the developmental needs of each region in addition to linking them with industry and the needs of the labor market.

The most important goals of the ministry is making education available for everybody without any discrimination and focusing on the needs of the labor market of technological universities, Ashour asserted.
