Military refers 17 Israeli embassy ‘rioters’ to juvenile prosecution

Military prosecutors on Tuesday released 17 suspects who were arrested during recent protests at the Israeli Embassy, referring them to juvenile prosecution. 

Another 136 suspects remain in detention pending investigations. 

Military police arrested 168 people on Sunday during demonstrations to protest Nakba Day, the anniversary of the creation of the state of Israel.

Those arrested were accused of provoking riots and committing acts of thuggery.

On Monday, they were referred to military prosecution and questioned about allegedly assaulting public and private properties as well as civil servants, including police and army personnel.
