Defense Minister Abdel Fattah al-Sisi presided a military funeral on Sunday for the victims of the Sinai helicopter crash that killed five military personnel on Saturday.
The helicopter crashed during a raid assisting military operations by armed forces against extremists in northern Sinai.
Causes of the incident are currently being investigated.
Sisi offered his condolences to the families of the martyrs, stressing that "the armed forces are willing to make sacrifices for the great people of Egypt."
