Security sources have said the sounds of explosions heard in Arish city, North Sinai on Monday were caused by artillery attacks by the Egyptian army against armed targets inside olive farms located south of the city.
Speaking to Al-Masry Al-Youm, the sources said the attacks come as part of the military campaigns launched by the Second Field army for the second day in a row, to follow terrorist militants south of Arish city.
The raids are made by ground troops supported by air cover with participation from artillery forces.
Witnesses from south Arish said they saw flames and smoke coming from the olive farms and heard extremely loud explosions.
