The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) forecasts a continued drop in temperatures across most of the country on Tuesday.
Cold weather is expected in the early morning, with moderate temperatures during the day in most areas.
Wind activity is expected in some regions, increasing the coldness.
The EMA said in a press release that Tuesday’s weather will see fog from 4:00 am to 9:00 am on some roads leading to and from northern Egypt, including Greater Cairo, northern Upper Egypt, and central Sinai.
Weather maps indicate a chance of rain in inland areas and along the northern coast, extending to northern Lower Egypt.
Moderate to heavy rain, sometimes accompanied by thunderstorms, is expected in parts of the governorates of Matrouh, Alexandria, Beheira, Kafr el-Sheikh, Daqahliya, Damietta, Port Said, Gharbia, Menoufia, and Sharqiya.
Hail and lightning strikes may accompany the thunderstorms in some areas.
Light rain – occasionally moderate – is also likely in the evening in parts of Greater Cairo, the Suez Canal cities, the Gulf of Suez, and northern and central parts of Upper Egypt.
The EMA expects wind activity across most of the country, which may stir up sand and dust in parts of southern Egypt and the Red Sea Governorate.
The authority also indicated that maritime navigation will be disrupted along the Mediterranean coast, with waves reaching heights of two to three meters.
