Meteorologists warn against Wednesday weather in Egypt

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority warned against Wednesday’s weather conditions. The EMA said in a statement that there is a state of instability in weather accompanied by rain of varying intensity with a decrease in temperatures and wind activity that may blow up sand and dust in some areas, from Wednesday evening until Friday.

Meteorologists expect a drop in temperatures and rainfall on Wednesday in areas of the northern coasts and Lower Egypt at intermittent intervals.

Winds expected to be active in areas of Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, the northern coasts, South Sinai, and northern Upper Egypt at intermittent periods.

The temperature in the governorates of Greater Cairo will reach highs of 21C and will drops as low as 10C.

Manar Ghanem, member of the Media Center of EMA, advised citizens to wear heavy clothes and take all necessary preparations and measures to reduce the effects of getting sick over the next three days.

The current period is witnessing transitional climatic fluctuations from the winter season to the spring season, which is known for the instability of weather and temperatures, as there are variations in temperatures per day and as a consequence; moderate weather during the day and very cold at night.

Ghanem warned citizens not to stand on Wednesday under billboards due to the wind activity during the current period, or to walk and stand under collapsing properties or next to lampposts, in order to ensure the safety of citizens.

Temperatures expected on Wednesday:

Cairo Lower Egypt: 21C high, and 10C low

North Coasts: 18C high, and 11C low

South Sinai: 25C high, and 15C low

Northern Upper Egypt: 23C high, and 8C low

Southern Upper Egypt: 27C, and 12C low
