The Supreme Council for Media Regulation in Egypt has banned Zamalek football club president Mortada Mansour from appearing in all media outlets for three months, whether it be radio, TV, or online.
The Council added that its decision came after the Committee for the Control of Sport Performance showed episodes on the evening program for Pyramids satellite channel from September 12 and 27 featuring Mansour.
The channel gave him the space to make harmful, defaming statements contradicting the media’s code of honor, norms and standards.
The statement added that the decision was in order to preserve national security, prevent provoking Egypt’s many sports fans, and not to undermine the symbols of Egyptian sport.
