Governmental and religious body Dar al-Iftaa’s observer of takfiri fatwa and extremist opinions announced on Wednesday its surprise of the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) group’s celebration of the 90th anniversary of its foundation, saying it has been divided and dispursed into several extremist groups.
The observer said that al-Qaeda and the Islamic State (IS) compete on joining the young elements of the MB.
“Although IS considered members of the MB group as apostates in its speeches and publications, they seek to acquire the MB elements after the group has become fragmented, divided, and [taken] hostage to international powers,” the observer clarified.
The observer added that Leader of al-Qaeda Ayman al-Zawahiri called on MB elements to join al-Qaeda and carry out operations under its umbrella. Zawahiri asserted in several audio recording that the MB had made mistakes in the past, but said this was an opportunity for a new start to overcome those mistakes.
