Mastering makeup: Leading up to Ramadan

As summer is slowly pulling its shades and Ramadan approaching, a new makeup regime is needed. Light make-up and a natural look is the key.

Firstly, capitalize on your sun-kissed skin, which should add a bit of color to your face and minimize the need for blusher or bronzer. Use a pinch of loose or compact bronzer…NO Glitter please.

Start with your eyebrows. Follow the natural shape of your brow with light or dark brow powder. This will accentuate the shape of your brows and fill in any gaps that may look odd.

Apply one or two layers of mascara with a one minute interval in between to allow the first coat to dry.

Use eye-liner or kohl to draw your upper lash line, adding the illusion of thickness to your lashes. Do the same with your lower lash line. If you would like to add color, use a blue, purple or green pencil. If you are a brunette, mix the color with black or brown to tone it down.

You need to tone down the color for your lips as well. Use a pink-colored lip balm to add color to your lips and hydrate them during the long hours of fasting (the pink Labello is highly recommended). Lipstick or lip-gloss are not a good idea.
