Authorities in the Aswan Governorate of southern Egypt confirmed that immediate action was taken following reports of gastrointestinal distress among several citizens in Adindan, a village within the Nasr Al-Nuba district.
Initial investigations indicate the symptoms resulted from contaminated food.
Medical teams treated 22 cases at the village’s local health unit, providing comprehensive care to all affected individuals.
According to the official statement, Governor Ismail Kamal directed the Aswan Health Directorate—led by Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Mohamed Saeed —to coordinate with the local municipal unit to implement all necessary medical and preventive measures.
Mohamed Saeed confirmed that the recorded cases were mild and limited in scope, posing no broader threat to public health.
All patients were treated in accordance with approved medical protocols and have since achieved a full recovery.
The patients have been discharged from the health unit in stable condition, with none requiring transfer to larger hospitals.
The Aswan Governorate has reassured citizens that the health situation in Adindan remains stable and is under full control.
Direct coordination and follow-up are being maintained by the Ministry of Health and Population. Medical and preventive teams remain on the ground as a precautionary measure to ensure public safety and prevent a recurrence of such incidents.
The Governor emphasized that citizen health remains the province’s top priority, noting that all health emergencies are handled with speed and absolute transparency.
