Five masked people were seen driving two cars and a motorcycle in the area of Monday’s gas pipeline explosion in North Sinai, according to security officials.
Officials say that the masked men are the same five people suspected of blowing up the pipeline before, and said that one of them was a Palestinian who had entered Egypt just two week before.
Police claim to have found an undetonated bomb at the site.
“We informed the importing countries that we would pump the gas again as soon as we fix the line,” said Hassan al-Mahdy, president of the Natural Gas Holding Company.
Meanwhile, Israeli officials said that the targeted pipeline was not the one supplying gas to Israel and Jordan.
