Martin Scorsese‘s latest film “Killers of the Flower Moon”, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro has released internationally to critical acclaim.
Clocking in at three and a half hour long, the historical epic sheds light on the massacring of the Native American Osage tribe through the story of Ernest, played by Leonardo DiCaprio, and his uncle played by Robert De Niro, and their interaction with an Osage family.
“Killers of the Flower Moon” is based on David Grann’s 2017 non-fiction book “Reign of Terror”, a term used by the Osage tribe to describe the brutal murders of 60 members of the tribe during the late 1920s.
The movie recorded about US$44 million at the international box office earlier in October, while its revenues at the US box office amounted to about $23 million.
Leonardo DiCaprio and director Martin Scorsese have had a long-lasting partnership including Gangs of New York (2002), The Aviator (2004), The Departed (2006), The Wolf of Wall Street (2013), and Shutter Island (2010).
And Scorsese and Robert De Niro worked on some of the most acclaimed films in all of cinema, including Taxi Driver (1976), Casino (1995), Goodfellas (1990), The Irishman (2019) and more.
