The 15th edition of the Marrakech International Film Festival will kick off on December 4, under the supervision of King Mohammed VI.
The festival will be held December 4-12.
The festival will honor American actors Bill Murray, William Dafoe, director Park Chan-Wook from South Korea, Indian Madhuri Dixit and Moroccan cinema photographer Kamal Derkaoui.
"Rock the Kasbah", directed by Barry Levinson, will be shown at the opening ceremony .
The official competition jury is headed by director, producer and screenwriter Francis Ford Coppola. Jury members include of Naomi Kawase from Japan, Olga Kurylenko of Ukraine, Thomas Vinterberg from Denmark, Olga Corellenko of Ukraine, Thomas Ventbarak from Denmark, Anton Corbijn from the Netherlands, Jean-Pierre Johny from France, Amal Ayouch from Morocco and others.
The festival will celebrate Canadian cinema, which will participate in the festival with a large delegation comprised of actors, producers and writers.
Fifteen feature films from different countries are competing for awards, including films from Japan, Brazil, South Korea, India, Kazkesten, Iran, Turkey, Lebanon, Iceland, Denmark, Belgium, Canada, the United States, Mexico and Morocco.
Movies competing in the festival include "Babai", "Cop Car", "Monster Closet", "The Desert" and others.
