On Monday, Mansoura Criminal Court sentenced 37 members of Muslim Brotherhood in Daqahliya to high-security imprisonment for periods ranging between 3-15 years over charges of violence, possessing weapons and damaging public and private property.
The court cleared all the suspects of joining a terrorist group.
The court also sentenced 20 Azhar University students from Mansoura, as well as other Brotherhood members, to five years in prison and another fugitives to seven years in absentia.
The defendants were arrested in October after they took part in protests against the current regime, which ended in clashes between protesters and police.
