On Wednesday, Mansoura Criminal Court sentenced 24 students loyal to deposed president Mohamed Morsy to two to five years in prison for participating in unlicensed protests last November at Mansoura University.
The students were found guilty of breaking the controversial protest law, injuring policemen, affiliation with a banned group and damaging public property.
The convicts include three girls, two of whom received two years in jail while the third was handed three years.
The remaining 21 males were sentenced to five years in jail.
