Following the example of French lovers on the Pont des Arts bridge in Paris, young couples in Mansoura have begun to put love locks on the Talkha bridge and the Nile Corniche. They write their names on the lock, hang it on the bridge and throw the key into the Nile.
A number of young "lock owners" said the idea came to them after the announcement of France removing the lovers' locks from the famous Pont des Arts bridge.
Each couple places the lock at their favourite place on the bridge or the Corniche, where they like to sit and spent time together, they added.
