Presidential spokesperson Ihab Badawy said President Adly Mansour will be meeting with Catherine Ashton, the High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy of the European Union, on Thursday at the presidential palace in Heliopolis.
Ashton has stressed EU support for Egypt, however, has criticized recent events, such as the sentencing to death of 529 Muslim Brotherhood members for the killing of a police officer, the jailing of political activists as well as the enstatement of the protest law, which requires prior authorization from the Interior Ministry to hold a demonstration.
