Madbouly: Iraqi PM’s visit to Egypt reflects keenness on enhancing ties to Administrative Capital

Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly said the convocation of the higher Egyptian-Iraqi committee in Cairo, on Tuesday 13-6-2023, highlights the two sides’ interest in enhancing bilateral cooperation in various domains.

The committee’s first session was held in Baghdad less than three years ago, he noted.

He said the Iraqi premier’s visit to Egypt comes at an important time as the region and the world is witnessing increasing challenges at the political and economic levels.

Madbouly lauded the Iraqi government’s approval of a three-year budget bill and its reform vision.

He said this important step will positively affect cooperation between the two sides and the implementation of Iraq’s reconstruction projects.

He noted that Egyptian companies will be open up for transferring their expertise to Iraq in addition to engaging in partnerships with Iraqi firms.

Madbouly said the talks tackled means of boosting trade exchange, activating Egyptian companies’ engagement in Iraq’s reconstruction process and enhancing cooperation in the power linkage domain as well as the fields of tourism, housing, sports and small businesses.
