Madbouly inspects New Administrative Capital construction work

Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly on Saturday inspected construction work in the governmental district of the New Administrative Capital as well as at the residential neighborhoods, the central garden area, the business and finance district and the towers area.

Madbouly stressed the need to strictly adhere to the timetable schedule for the construction work, and ensure their quality.

He also listened to a presentation on the governmental district – which is located on an area of 1.5 million square meters (equivalent to 150 acres) and includes 10 ministerial complexes with a total of 34 ministries, in addition to the buildings for the cabinet and the parliament.

The administrative procedures for moving the government to the New Capital are underway, Madbouly said, which is being done through selecting the employees who will be relocated, the procedures for training them, furnishing the governmental district and so on.

After his visit to the new headquarters of the cabinet, Madbouly went on to follow up on the construction of the parliament building, and toured the capital’s City of Arts and Culture.

The Prime Minister also inspected the towers area in the city’s financial and business center and went up to the 16th floor of the Iconic Tower, where he was received by the Chinese ambassador to Cairo, and officials of the Chinese company responsible for the construction work.

The Minister of Housing, Assem al-Gazzar, said that the work progress in the towers area is achieving its targets. The Prime Minister had instructed Gazzar present a report on the towers area construction work every two months until the end of 2020.
