Maat wins election in Euro-Mediterranean Anna Lindh Foundation for the Dialogue Between Cultures

The member organizations of the Euro-Mediterranean Anna Lindh Foundation for the Dialogue Between Cultures have re-elected Maat for Peace, Development and Human Rights as the head of the network for a second mandate, which will run between June 2015 and June 2017.
 
The network, which includes 181 member organizations throughout Egypt, conducted the elections on Saturday, June 6, 2015 under the supervision of a pentagonal committee consisting of the Foreign Ministry, the Euro-Mediterranean Anna Lindh Foundation for the Dialogue Between Cultures and three member organizations from the Egyptian network's Board of Trustees.
 
The Maat Foundation won by an overwhelming majority, nearly 95 percent of the total eligible votes.
 
The Anna Lindh Foundation works with the 42 member states that make up the Union for the Mediterranean and has its headquarters in both the Bibliotheca Alexandria and the Swedish Institute in Egypt.
 
It is concerned with promoting dialogue between cultures in this region via a network of civil society organizations.
 
The Maat Foundation was created in 2005 to promote human rights and development on local and regional levels.
