The governor of Luxor, Mohamed Badr, has approved the plan to establishment the world's largest tourist marina in the governorate, including 280 floating hotels. The project will be located on state-owned land, Director General of Investment in Luxor Nuby Sayed said on Saturday.
While selecting the project site, the officials considered its proximity to archaeological sites in the governorate, and its location on non-agricultural land plots, Sayed said, pointing out that the project could be extended in the future to include more floating hotels.
The governorate is expected to witness an expansion of investment in tourism in the coming period, as well as in agricultural and industrial projects in the framework of the province's plan to create job opportunities for citizens outside of the tourist sector, which has suffered significant losses after the revolution 25 January revolution, he added.
