First Lieutenant Ibrahim Azazy of the National Security Agency in Qaliubiya was killed by two unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle, according to the Interior Ministry.
Azazy was leaving his home, about to go to a local mosque for the Friday prayer when he was shot, the ministry statement said.
Authorities are sweeping the scene of the incident and legal measures will be taken once the perpetrators are located.
