Libyan authorities detained an Egyptian fishing boat in the city of Benghazi and arrested 14 fishermen on board, accusing them of breaking into international waters without permission.
Al-Masry Al-Youm was informed that the Libyan coastguard held the sailors at a military prison in the city.
Ali Mohamed, the father of one of the detained sailors, said that his son and colleagues were held two weeks ago, calling for swift intervention by the Foreign Ministry to rescue the sailors.
