Libya arrests 46 Egyptian fishermen

Libyan authorities arrested 46 Egyptian fishermen Thursday, seriously injuring two, after they illegally entered its territorial waters. Three fishing boats were also seized at the Benghazi Port.

The fishermen are from Borg Megheizel village in Kafr al-Sheikh and were fishing on Sunday when the winds pushed them into Libyan waters.

Ahmed Nassar, head of a charity for fishermen in the village, said a fellow villager living in Benghazi contacted the arrested fishermen’s families and broke the news.
