Lebanese singer Haifa Wehbe banned from performing in Egypt

The Musicians Syndicate in Egypt announced the suspension of work permits for Lebanese singer Haifa Wehbe, and the suspension of all her concerts until she appears for investigation by the legal affairs at the union.

Syndicate spokesperson Mohamed Abdullah said that Wehbe had recently contracted with an artistic production company and then breached its terms.

A complaint was then filed against her by the syndicate, which issued its decision requiring her to abide by the contract with the production company, he explained.

During a phone call with the “etc” Egyptian satellite channel, Abdullah said the syndicate also received a complaint from one of the contractors Wehbe failed to perform at a planned concert even despite the fact that her business manager received the deposit.

He continued: “Based on her failure to commit, here comes the role of the syndicate. It will be investigated next week, as a result of her failure to fulfill her obligations, and the issue has nothing to do with her nationality at all.”
