Minya's security forces intensified their presence in front of vital facilities Friday after the distribution of anonymous pamphlets that said public facilities and churches would be targeted if sit-ins for toppled President Mohamed Morsy supporters were broken up by force.
The pamphlets bore the name of a movement called "Nedal (Struggle)" which identifies itself as an Islamic movement that rejects secularism and defends oppressed people.
The publication denounced the policy of double standards and incitement against Islamists and peaceful sit-ins and marches.
The leaflet said the group might attack security directorates, public facilities, churches, and policemen if security forces attempted to break up sit-ins or gatherings in front of mosques.
The group also threatened to block roads and railways.
Residents of the village of Nazlet Abeed filed compaints against pro-Morsy protesters, saying they attacked them and their cars on their way to quarries, injuring six people and shattering the windows of four cars.
Other residents said protesters forced Copts in the village to stop work at more than 400 white brick factories.
