LE 51bn projects to update railway system: Transport Minister

Projects amounting to LE51 billion are currently underway to develop the railway system in Egypt, including updating the traffic signals and procuring new train carts, Minister of Transportation, Hesham Arafat, stated on Sunday.

During his visit to the Kom Ombo Railway Station in southern Egypt, Arafat asserted that train passengers will receive better services in 2018.

Arafat rode the Kom Ombo –Luxor train to review the safety procedures, control devices, and the condition of bars, railroads crossings and signals.

Arafat further visited the Luxor Railway Station for inspection, noting that he appreciates the efforts of the train drivers and technicians to improve services offered to the passengers.
