LE250 mn allocated to strengthen security at Egyptian resorts

Tourism Minister Hisham Zaazou announced Thursday the allocation of LE250 million to strengthen security at main Egyptian resorts.

The new measures include the purchase of the latest scanning and detection equipment and sniffer dogs, along with the installation of an integrated surveillance system in Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada resorts specifically.

The new security system will be integrated with the old security control system currently applied in tourist facilities, he said, pointing out that the same measures would be applied later in all Egyptian resorts.

The minister stressed that Egypt has to commit to the highest standards of safety and security at a time when the world is witnessing increasing security threats every day.

He added that the security of tourists in Egypt is a top priority for the Egyptian government.
